There were past masters who left us yet were able to grant the traditional art field great works, cultivate many artists and notably contribute to the development and direction of these arts. Both to introduce them to the coming generations and to pay our debt towards them, we have organized a series of activities where we commemorated Dist. Prof. Dr. Süheyl Ünver and Füsun Arıkan in the first two of these series of activities.
Between 29 November - 8 December 2012 The Association of Traditional Arts, supported by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized the widest comprehensive series of activities to support the art of Binding by actualizing the “The International Meeting for the Art of Binding”.
The Association of Traditional Art organized the Miniature Meeting in which works of significant Miniature artists were put on display. Furthermore, between 21-27 May 2011, a symposium was held with the attendance of the artists and experts. The Association presented the Silver Tulip Award to Prof. Dr. Nurhan Atasoy.
The Association of Traditional Arts held the Illumination Meeting at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall between 24-30 April, 2009. The event included a symposium, an exhibition, workshop sessions and commemoration programs.
On March 16th, 2003, “Istanbul- Tehran Miniature Meeting” was organized at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall by The Association of Traditional Arts along with the contribution of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Department of Culture of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
Within The “2 Cultures 1 Art” Project, a symposium was held in Istanbul bringing prominent miniature artists together from Iran and Turkey for the first time.
