Applications for the UNESCO Intangible Turkish Cultural Heritage Photography Contest, hosted by the Traditional Arts Association and supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, have started. You can participate in the contest by sending your photos of many elements reflecting Turkish culture such as Karagöz, Nowruz, traditional dishes, evil eye beads, which are included in UNESCO’s heritage list, to the Traditional Arts Association until June 30.
With its ancient traditions and cultural elements, Turkey is among the countries with the richest heritage list of UNESCO.

Performing arts (Karagöz, meddah, puppetry, folk theater, etc.),
Social practices, rituals and feasts (engagement, wedding, birth, Nevruz, etc. celebrations),
Knowledge and practices related to nature and the universe (traditional food, folk medicine, folk calendar, folk meteorology, etc.),
Traditional arts and crafts (weaving, evil eye beads, filigree, coppersmithing, folk architecture, calligraphy, illumination, miniature, tile, solid’

The photographs of our elements belonging to the fields mentioned above will be evaluated by the selection committee and 50 works will be exhibited on the digital platform.
In this contest, which will be open to participants of all ages;
2.000,00 TL to the first 25 participants
500,00 TL cash prize will be awarded to the next 25 participants.
Photographs must be saved in JPG/JPEG format, at least 300 DPI resolution, 8-12 compression quality and sent via wetransfer to bilgi@gelenekselsanatlar.org e-mail address within the application period.
The Artist – Photograph Introduction Form and the Specification below must be delivered / shipped to the address specified in the envelope with wet signature until the application deadline. The owner of the work is responsible for delays caused by cargo.
